Female policyholders of the Guyana and Trinidad Mutual Fire Insurance Company who have comprehensive motor insurance will now benefit from a club created by the company which concentrates on helping women who encounter road mishaps.
GTM has partnered with MMC Security to launch its Female Road Rescue Club which will provide several benefits for new and existing motor insurance policyholders.
Wheel change in the event of a flat tyre, security in the event of an accident or breakdown until help arrives, and arranging of towing services if required in the event of an accident or breakdown are the three major services that will be provided by the club.
These services, according to a GTM advertisement in yesterday’s Sunday Stabroek, will be available up to Timehri on the East Bank Demerara, Bachelor’s Adventure on the East Coast Demerara and Leonora on the West Bank Demerara. Provisions will be made for expansion to the other counties.
Female policyholders who have comprehensive insurance and who own and drive the insured vehicle will become members of the club at no cost provided that certain conditions are met, the GTM advertisement said.
Company Manager, Nadia Sagar, at the launching of the club last Monday said that GTM is proud to be the first insurance company in the country to offer such a benefit to clients. Membership of the club, GTM Director Beverley Harper said, is not a sign of helplessness but rather provides a means by which women can take control of their own safety on the roads.
The company will be inviting all policyholders who qualify to join the club and queries about this new venture are welcome.
Female policyholders who have Third Party motor insurance are eligible to become members however they will have to pay an annual fee of $5,000.
