The 34-year-old mother of two who was stabbed to death on Thursday by her former reputed husband moments after she left home for work, died from haemorrhage and shock due to a stab wound, police said yesterday.
Savitrie Arjune of Lot 382 Herstelling, East Bank Demerara was stabbed at least three times but it was a wound to the heart that was the fatal blow.
Meanwhile, the police are still looking for the man who fled the area after committing the act, which occurred a stone’s throw from the public road.
A relative told Stabroek News yesterday that the man called the home and threatened to harm the woman’s family members. However, he was not heard from yesterday.
