Baseball superstar Manny Ramirez will be stepping “onto the pitch” to “protect his wicket” against a cricket pitcher to promote DIRECTV’s CricketTicket™ Service.
Ramirez will take some batting tips from Australian batsman Shaun Marsh before taking his swings from Nichols Park, home to the Arizona Cricket Club.
Marsh, an Australia A representative, made his first-class debut in 2000-01, and was also part of the Australia Under-19 squad that won the World Cup in 2002. Just 25, he is one of the finest young batsmen in Australia and has played for such fabled clubs as Kings XI Punjab and Western Australia.
The Cricket Ticket Package, is the only provider to offer Cricket to the United States.
The event takes place tomorrow at Nichols Park in Gilbert, AZ, which is a short drive from Dodgers spring training.
There are over 5,000,000 cricket fans in the United States.
