Roger Khan must ‘face the music’ -President

-says never had personal contact with him President Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday said that Guyanese drug trafficker Shaheed Roger Khan would have to “face the music” having pleaded guilty to several offences in the US adding that he has never had any personal contact with Khan and does not know of anyone in the government who had.

Shiv receives CCH – Guyana’s third highest honour

The number of accolades that are being bestowed on West Indies batting star Shivnarine Chanderpaul increased Tuesday night when the 34-year-old left handed batsman was awarded the Cacique Crown of Honour (CCH), Guyana’s third highest award, by President Bharrat Jagdeo at a function at State House in Georgetown.

Guyana open to partnership in drugs war -President

Guyana is willing to collaborate with the developed world in the war on drugs but only as a partner; not as a recipient of “lectures when there is no real assistance when we have to give and give and every time we ask even for assistance with prosecution they would constantly come up with excuses,” President Bharrat Jagdeo said yesterday.

President of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Chetram Singh yesterday offered his congratulations to Guyana, West Indies and Durham middle order batsman Shivnarine ‘Tiger’ Chanderpaul, who has received the Cacique Crown of Honour (CCH), the third highest national award, from President Bharrat Jagdeo.
