A senior official within the Guyana Water Inc has been sent home because of his alleged involvement in fraudulent activity, which would have seen various contractors being given preferential treatment when it came to the awarding of GWI contracts.

When Stabroek News contacted a source within the water company, this information was confirmed. The company is to make an official statement.

According to information received the official was sent home on Wednesday.
