The Horticultural Society of Guyana is hosting its annual exhibition and plant sale at the Umana Yana over the weekend of March 28-29.
In a press release the group said the show will feature over 20 categories of exhibits including cut flowers, fresh and dried arrangements, cacti and succulents, foliage plants, ferns, orchids, novelty arrangements, hanging baskets. Plants, pots and gardening equipment will also be on sale.
The Society said more than 200 entries have been received. Late registration has been set for March 27 at the exhibition site from 9am to 6pm. Participants are also required to bring their exhibits during this time. Fresh flowers and arrangements should be delivered on the morning of March 28 between 7am and 8.30am. Judging starts at 10am.
The Society said it will also have its customary Tea Shoppe. The show opens on Saturday at 2pm until 6pm and on Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Prizes will be distributed to the winners before the close of the show. Tickets for adults cost $300, children under 12, $100.
