A UK-based Guyanese family has donated a “standard pavilion type clock” to the Providence stadium just in time for the cricket One Day International matches.
According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release Rabi Sukul, his wife Savita and son Raj took the decision to donate the clock after noticing that one had not been mounted when they attended the Cricket World Cup matches here in 2007.
After talking with Guyana National Stadium Manager Tony Xavier about their intentions, the family decided to donate a clock that was manufactured in the UK and which is identical to the one mounted on the pavilion of the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground in Nottingham, England.
