Flamingo and Vasco Football Clubs played to a goalless draw on Wednesday as preliminary round action in the Net-Rockers Football Club Linden Town Week Under-19 tournament continued at the Bayroc Community Centre ground.
Vasco who were on three points prior to this match were hoping for a win which would have sealed their place in the semi-finals, but they had to settle for one point from the draw and must now wait to see if Blue Berry Hill United can stop Flamingo in order to advance.
They also lost the services of Keith Fraser who picked up two yellow cards in two minutes and was given marching orders. It was Flamingo’s second game of the tournament and should they complete a victory over Blue Berry Hill on Sunday, they will find themselves in a semi-final showdown with either tournament favourites Net-Rockers or Winners Connections, who have booked their place in the final four, having had a clean sheet throughout the preliminaries.The action will continue this afternoon at the same venue with Amelia’s Ward United taking on Hi Stars from 16:00hrs.
