Hemant Narine, on the comeback trail, turned back a strong challenge from his opponents to win the GNRA .22 LR Precision Pistol Shoot last Saturday at Eve Leary ranges.
Narine recorded an aggregate score of 267 points with 4 V-Bulls out of a possible 300 points.
The competition was shot at 10, 15 and 20 metres ranges.
In second position was Aundrea Cambridge who scored 238 points and three V-bulls while former smallbore vice captain Everall Franklin was third with a score of 238 and two V-bulls.
In the beginners’ category Michael Blake emerged as the top shooter over Wade James with a score of 168 and three V-bulls.
James recorded 156 points with 1 V-bull.
Smallbore captain Dale Hing said he was extremely pleased to see the return of Narine and Franklyn now a Member of Parliament (MP) who were very active in the club a few years ago. The GNRA’s next handgun competition is scheduled for April 26 and will be a 9mm practical pistol shoot at the Timehri Ranges.
