The Region Four Administration says Guyana has lost a great and illustrious leader and an outstanding woman with the passing of former president Janet Jagan.

In a press release Regional Executive Officer Shafdar Alli said Jagan demonstrated the ability to be an effective force in her own right and alongside her husband, the late president Dr Cheddi Jagan who was recognised as a charismatic leader. He said her contribution to Guyana’s development was tremendous and the region is committed to continuing her legacy by strengthening democracy.
