A security guard attached to the North Ruimveldt Multilateral School was stabbed several times by armed men who invaded the institution during the wee hours yesterday, before they escaped with several items.

Stabroek News understands that during the 2 am incident the guard was accosted by the men on a corridor and dealt several stabs about the body.

He was then forced into a nearby washroom.

The men then broke into the head teacher’s office and collected several items including a DVD player and an amplifier before escaping.

Sources told this newspaper that the guard, somehow managed to escape and was treated at the hospital for his injuries.

He was later sent home.
