According to a release from the Force last evening, it was “diligent investigations by the police and the commendable support of members of the public” that led to the recovery of the Nikon camera valued at US$5,000.

The camera was stolen from famed photographer Gordon Brooks while he was at the National Cricket Stadium, Providence.

The release said that around 3.30 pm on Sunday, March 22nd  Brooks reported to the police at the stadium that he had left a bag with the camera and other articles in his seat while attending to other business, and upon his return the camera was missing.

Acting on information received ranks went to a house at Charlotte Street, Bourda where they arrested a man who was attempting to sell the camera. Further enquiries led to the arrest of another man. The two men are in police custody.

Meanwhile Brooks, who had since left the country, was informed that his camera has been recovered.
