Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my appreciation of the efforts of all concerned who helped to make the funeral of my aunt happen at such short notice. I was particularly impressed by the Disciplined Forces and thought it a nice touch that there was a female Guard of Honour − someone else commented that they did not realise there were so many females in the army.
I was also quite touched by people taking the time out from work to line the streets and especially those who threw flowers on the way as a final farewell.
The President was quite gracious in allowing the family to express their opinions and I think my aunt would have been quite proud to see how well everything went.
Yours faithfully,
Dionne Fries
