Dear Editor,
Details of Jesus’s death have been brought out in some way or the other through the Biblical movies which have been airing on various TV stations during this Lenten season. While a few stations must be commended for the airing of relevant movies and the excellent order in which these movies were aired (from Old Testament stories to New Testament scenes) in New Amsterdam in particular, one needs to take stock of the fact that Cleopatra and Spartacus (for the second time now) are not, and I repeat, are not Biblical movies. For the record, Cleopatra is documented as one of the worst films made in history (check Wikipedia) and contains numerous inaccuracies (as does Spartacus).
Yours faithfully,
Leon J Suseran
