A nominal, undisclosed fee will be charged for patrons wishing to take their vehicles and motorcycles into the Botanic Gardens and the National Park on Easter Monday.
According to a press release from the National Parks Commission, the money collected will be used to offset expenses incurred in cleaning the gardens of the usual overwhelming garbage and debris pile up after the kite-flying and picnicking activities associated with Easter Monday in Georgetown. The release also stated that garbage bags would be distributed free of cost to groups entering the parks with the hope that they will be collected periodically during the day to assist with the clean-up exercise.
Entrance to the Botanic Gardens will be through the western main gate on Vlissengen Road while exit will be through the Eastern gate. Entrance to the National Park will be at the Carifesta Avenue gate with exit at the Albert Street gate.
Admission to the Joe Vieira Park will be free between 6 am and 6 pm.
Vending of beverages is strictly prohibited except by the duly authorised franchisee.
