(Trinidad Guardian) – Heavy trading on Wednesday culminated in a total of 550,370 shares crossing the floor valued at $20.66 million. Of the day’s nine active issues, Neal & Massy Holdings Ltd emerged as the volume leader with 389,790 shares being traded for a value of $19.29 million.
The second most actively traded security was Sagicor Financial Corporation, of which 83,884 shares changed hands with a value of $879,153.72. National Commercial Bank Jamaica Ltd and National Enterprises Ltd were also significant contributors to the day’s totals, adding 28,030 shares and 21,142 shares respectively to the overall volume with corresponding values of $24,225.50 and $120,519.08 in that order. Of the seven price changes registered yesterday, declines outpaced advances 5:2. Sagicor and Scotiabank Trinidad & Tobago Ltd posted positive movements of $0.19 and $0.02 to close at $10.50 and $28.12 in that order.
Guardian Holdings Ltd witnessed the greatest loss of the day, falling $1.74 to close at $18.00. National Enterprises Ltd lost $0.30 to end at $5.70. First Caribbean International Bank Limited posted a decline of $0.02 to close at $8.98 while Neal & Massy Ltd and Trinidad Cement Ltd shed $0.01 each to end at $49.49 and $4.05 in that order. There was no activity on the Mutual Fund or Second Tier markets. The Composite Index lost 5.62 points ending at 814.86. The All T&T Index fell 12.03 points to 1,114.33. The Cross Listed Index gained 0.06 points to close at 63.75.
