Kiari Liman-Tinguiri is the new United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Guyana.
According to a press release, Liman-Tinguiri, a national of Niger, presented his credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett on April 9, 2009 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Liman-Tinguiri, whose most recent posting was in Equatorial Guinea where he served as UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, is a trained economist who brings eighteen years of service with the UN to Guyana.
He obtained his Ph.D with distinction in economic policy analysis from the University of Nancy 11 in France and he is also the author of a number of research papers and articles which were published in several journals.
Liman-Tinguiri is married and a father of three.
