A 36-year-old man is in hospital nursing a stab wound to the back which he says was inflicted in a case of mistaken identity. The attacker is yet to be arrested.
John Morrison is currently in the male ward of the Georgetown Hospital suffering from internal bleeding.
Despite his pain, Morrison managed to recount the Sunday afternoon incident from his hospital bed. According to him he was at Breda and D’Urban streets when he saw a vehicle parked in front of his home, with the engine on and no one inside or standing nearby.
He said he decided to peep into the vehicle when he saw a man running from a nearby alleyway.
The man jumped into the car and drove off.
According to Morrison, a few minutes later he felt someone stab him in the upper back and later realized that it was the same man who jumped into the car moments earlier.
He said he has never seen the attacker before and said that the man mistook him for someone who had robbed him sometime before.
