Police yesterday captured a man who had been wanted in connection with three counts of attempted murder.
Linden Sooklall called ‘Coolie Boy’ of Wakenaam, Essequibo, was arrested by police ranks at a house at Sheet Anchor, Canje, Berbice, a release from the police said.
An arrest warrant had been issued for Sooklall since September 2007, following his failure to attend court after he had been placed on bail for charges of three counts of attempted murder.
Sooklall had been charged jointly with Rajendra Bhagwandin following an incident on November 13, 2005, at Parika Backdam, East Bank Essequibo, where it is alleged that they chopped Hemwattie Ramdial, Vinood Persaud and Budhram about their bodies.
