Two persons were yesterday placed on $20,000 bail each when charges of unlawful assault and unlawful and malicious wounding were read to them by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
It is alleged that on April 19 at Georgetown, 38-year-old Wayne David, a self-employed construction worker of 58 David Street, Kitty unlawfully assaulted Cloyette Brummell so as to cause her actual bodily harm.
It is also alleged that the same day at Georgetown, 36-year-old Brummell, a teacher of West Ruimveldt Primary School unlawfully and maliciously wounded Wayne David.
They both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to Brummell, David who is her child’s father, has not been doing enough to support and maintain their son and as a result they got into an argument which landed them both in court.
Both began to tell the magistrate of the physical violence that they had experienced from the other and at this point the matter was called to the bench where a lengthy discussion ensued.
They were subsequently placed on $20,000 bail each. Their matter was transferred to Court Two for June 18.
