BOSTON, (Reuters) – NBA champions Boston Celtics, already without key forward Kevin Garnett, have lost back-up Leon Powe for the rest of the season through injury, the team said on its website (www.nba.com/celtics) yesterday.
Powe suffered a cruciate ligament injury in Monday’s victory over the Chicago Bulls that levelled the first round playoff series at 1-1.
The 25-year-old has been first off the bench for the Celtics with Glen Davis starting in place of Garnett.
