The Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG) says several of its members will be participating at the “Re-discover the Caribbean Tradeshow” in Barbados starting tomorrow.
In a press release THAG said this is the sixth consecutive year that Guyana will be attending the show in order to build travel and trade partnerships with representatives across the region. Partici-pation at this show is said to be particularly important to local operators as they advertise their product in an increasingly challenging regional and international market. THAG’s agenda will include meeting with travel agents, operators and other stakeholders before and during the show to encourage the promotion of Guyana. The show will be held on Friday and Saturday and will be opened from 10am to 10pm daily.
The release said representatives from Evergreen Adventures, the Pegasus Hotel Guyana, Hurakabra River Resort, Adel’s Resort, Radisson Suites and Christine’s Executive Tour Services will be participating in the activities. Represen-tatives from the Pegasus and Hurakabra resort along with those from the Ariantze Hotel and Sidewalk Café will not be attending the Barbados show however they will be participating in the RE Discover Competition to be broadcast in collaboration with CBC TV8 Mornin’ Barbados programme.
The programme which started on Monday and concludes on Friday, features the Re-Discover the Caribbean Show Week where participants will be eligible to win 20, five-day, four-night trips to destinations across the Region. Guyana is offering two of those prizes to two couples. Winners will be announced at the close of the show on Saturday.
THAG said RE Discover the Caribbean was started by Adrian Lowridge in the mid-2000s in order to boost intra regional travel and trade relations.
