On Tuesday, the Port Mourant Cricket Club in collaboration with New York-based Legends of Port Mourant handed over some gear to young, aspiring cricketers.
Club president Devendra Khallendra said the initiative is aimed at strengthening the players by helping them to acquire needed gear that is usually very expensive. According to Khallendra, most of the items were donated by the Legends of Port Mourant.
The players honoured are Devindra Thakurdeen, the club’s MVP at the First Division level, Rajendra Bolo, the club’s MVP at the Second Division level, Chandrashekar Arjune at the under-19 level, and Mahendra Veerasammy at the under-15 level.
