Queens taking on Heroines in first match
The Corriverton Queens are set to take on the Crabwood Creek Heroines in the first match of the Bier and Prakash Singh Memorial/Vishnu Super Store softball games set for the Crabwood Creek Cricket Ground tomorrow.
The match is set for 10am and will be the first ever ladies cricket match played at the ground.
According to a press release immediately after this match the Floodlight A&B team from Demerara will take on a Vishnu Super Store X1 then Scottsburg United for the Bier Singh Memorial trophy.
Trophies for the Super Store matches are being sponsored by Vishnu Hardyal of Springlands and the Bier and Prakash Singh trophies are being sponsored by Ganesh Singh and Brothers sawmiller and loggers of Crabwood Creek.
Admission costs $100. Children under 12 will be admitted free. The release said there will be lots to eat and drink and Body Rock will be providing musical accompaniment. The games are being held as part of fundraising activities for the Crabwood Creek Sports Council in order to upgrade the ground.
The release said Scottsburg United will be captained by James Hart; Vishnu Super Store squad by Vishnu Hardyal; Floodlights A squad by Mike Singh and Floodlight B squad by Reaz Hussain. The physiotherapist is Jesus Fernandez.
