The Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) and Food for the Poor have come to the rescue of a Bath Settlement fire victim and his family of four who were recently rendered homeless.
Fire completely destroyed the home of Zahid Naiaken at Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice, despite his frantic efforts to save the property, a press release stated.
The CIOG has so far provided the family with clothing, footwear and milk and beans, compliments of Food for the Poor and has promised further assistance in the rebuilding of their home at an estimated $522,000, the release concluded.
