Registrar of the Supreme Court, Sita Ramlal has written to Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr Roger Luncheon requesting leave.

“Today, I was charged indictably with four criminal offences,” Ramlal said in the letter which was copied to the Chief Justice. “Consequently and in the interest of transparency and justice, I would like to request that I be allowed to proceed on administrative leave with immediate effect pending the hearing and determination of these matters. All necessary arrangements are in place for the continued functioning of the Registry of the Supreme Court of Judicature,” the letter said.
