LONDON, (Reuters) – Growing fears over the outbreak of swine flu in Mexico have forced the cancellation of the remainder of the CONCACAF under-17 championship in Tijuana, the region’s governing body said on their website (www.concacaf.com).
Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico and the U.S. were due to contest the semi-finals of the youth tournament today.
CONCACAF also postponed the second leg of the Champions League finals between Cruz Azul and Atlante FC until May 12.
The CONCACAF beach soccer championship, which was scheduled to begin in Puerto Vallarta today, has been delayed indefinitely.
