The culmination of Linden Town Week on Sunday will include the presence of two Jamaican DJ/singers, Tony Matterhorn and Fire Links, as they are both set to perform at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground.
Under the Ward Entertainment Group Promotion, the duo and Johnny Killah are expected to arrive in the country today and they will make several stops at parties in the town prior to the show.
Matterhorn is no stranger to these shores. He has been here frequently. His last show was on New Year’s Day at the National Stadium.
Fire Links will be making his first visit since turning a singer. He visited back in the day as a DJ with Kilimanjaro Sound.
The two artistes are not known for sharing the same stage but for going neck-to-neck when they were DJs at the famous ‘World Clash’ in which Matterhorn was the more successful.
Ardent music fans are expected to turn up in anticipation that they will roll back the years and release some dub-plates against each other.
Meanwhile, the night will also see performances from reigning Calypso king ‘The Professor’ along with Dynamic Force out of New York.
This is the second time around that the promotion group is bringing entertainment to the Linden town week celebration.
In 2008 the group had its first show which was supposed to feature controversial Jamaican singer Movado. However, the government had banned the singer, whose given name is David Constantine and Rodney Price aka Bounty Killer from ever touching the shores of Guyana because of their violent lyrics.
