Narayan Ramdhani won three titles when the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA)/West Indian Sports Complex annual junior badminton doubles tournament got underway at the Queen’s College auditorium last Friday.
Ramdhani first teamed up with Shane Shewjattan to win the Under-11 Boys doubles final, whilst he won the Under-13 and Under-15 titles in partnership with Andrew Peroune and Jason Ray Khalil respectively. He ended as the runner-up in the Under-17 category.
Priyanna Ramdhani was also in the multiple winners’ row, winning the Girls Under-11 and 13 categories, whilst she placed second in the Under-15 division.
Ramdhani and Shewjattan easily disposed of Diquan Naughton and Armand Ramdhani 21-10, 21-8 in the Boys Under-11 category, before he paired up with Andrew Peroune to defeat Amandeep Alvis and Christopher Shewjattan 21-12, 21-9.
He later teamed up with Jason Ray Khalil to defeat Peroune and Kevin Quaicoe 21-16, 21-9 to take the Under-15 title, before he lost out in his bid to win four crowns having to settle for the runner-up position in tandem with Khalil in the Under-17 category, where they lost to Nicholas Alli and Avian Rodrigues 18-21, 15-21.

Priyanna Ramdhani/ Emma Vieira defeated Rebecca Low/Maya Persram: 21-8, 21-13
Under-13 Boys Doubles Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani/ Andrew Peroune defeated Amandeep Alvis/Christopher Shewjattan: 21-12, 21-9
Under-13 Girls Doubles Finals:
Priyanna Ramdhani/ Mariah Low defeated Greer Jackson/Angelica Holder: 21-9, 22-20
Under-15 Boys Doubles Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani/Jason-Ray Khalil defeated Andrew Peroune/Kevin Quaicoe: 21-16, 21-9
Under-15 Girls Doubles Finals:
Anissa Rodrigues/Tashana Lowe defeated Priyanna Ramdhani/Anuradha Oditt: 21-14, 21-5
Under-17 Boys Doubles Finals:
Nicholas Alli/Avian Rodrigues defeated Narayan Ramdhani/Jason-Ray Khalil: 21-18, 21-15
Under-17 Girls Doubles Finals:
Anissa Rodrigues/Ashley Khalil defeated Tashana Lowe/Anuradha Oditt: 21-5, 21-4
The presentation of prizes will be held today at the Queen’s College Badminton Courts at 6 pm.
