Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr Roger Luncheon says Cabinet has given the ‘go-ahead’ to five contracts in the social sector, including one for the night shelter.
According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release Dr Luncheon made this announcement at a post-Cabinet briefing held on Tuesday.
GINA said in the human services sector $15.014M has been approved for rehabilitating and upgrading the Night Shelter. In the local government sector, regarding solid waste, $148.08M has been ‘green-lighted’ for the construction of an access road for the Haag Bosch landfill site.
Meanwhile, in the education sector $75M, $20.9M and $17.05M have been approved for the procurement of exercise books and to upgrade the teachers housing quarters at the Kaikan Primary School in Region Seven and at the Port Kaituma Primary School in Region One respectively.
