(Trinidad Express) – Stabbing him to death was not enough.
So the person who murdered Dave Holder, 49, on Thursday took it a step further and sliced off his genitals, stuck a knife into the bloody stump and then used the victim’s blood to draw a moon and a star on a piece of paper which was left on Holder’s chest, a female relative said.
Holder lived alone in a small house near to his relatives in Never Dirty, Morvant.
He didn’t have a wife nor did he have any children, the woman told the Express on the condition of anonymity. She said he washed maxi-taxis for a living and was also addicted to crack cocaine.
According to the police, the incident is believed to have occurred around 4 and 4.30 am Thursday.
Both police and relatives were baffled over the killing.
A family friend said Holder had a habit of inviting people to stay at his small house.
His latest guest was a man who had lived there for the last three months.
Holder’s relatives said they heard an argument in the wee hours of Thursday at the apartment but did not investigate.
Relatives later discovered the back door to house open and found Holder lying on the floor.
There were stab wounds to his chest and neck and his genitals was missing.
A team of officers from the Morvant CID, Homicide Bureau as well as the Special Anti Crime Unit visited the scene and after gathering their evidence ordered the body taken to the Forensic Science Centre, in St James.
A post-mortem was done later that day which concluded that Holder died as a result of the several stab wounds to his chest.
