An art exhibition under the theme Image and Identity

An art exhibition under the theme Image and Identity was declared open on Wednesday at the National Gallery, Castellani House. The exhibition which coincides with International Museum Day 2009 is also being held to celebrate Guyana’s 43rd Independence Anniversary. The exhibition continues until July 31.  This Anil Roberts painting, Makushi Woman, is one of many on exhibition at the Castellani House. According to Roberts, it depicts a traditional Amerindian woman. It was done in acrylic and is being sold for $60,000.
