Guyana’s batsman Krishna Arjune was in great form over the past week, slamming 158 for his club Bamboo Sports against Aranguez Sports in their North Championship clash.
Arjune opening the batting for Bamboo was in great touch getting to158 as his club tallied an impressive 411/8 declared.
Aranguez in reply made 366 as the game ended in a draw.
Also making runs in the last round were the Guyanese pair of Krishna and Surujpaul Deossaran both of whom scored centuries for Caldrac Sports against F&E Diamond United at Kennedy Park in Diamond. Krishna Deosarran made an elegant 152 and Surujpaul an unbeaten 132 in Caldrac’s mammoth total of 403-5 declared. The duo shared in a record fifth-wicket stand of 240 runs. Another Guyanese batsman in great touch was Neil Williams who slammed 98 to lead his team Curepe to victory over Spoilers Sports club.
And at Calcutta, opener Rakesh Goberdhan continued his rich vein of form getting 56 for his team in their drawn encounter against Valiants. At Couva, Rajeev Ivan who has scored two centuries this season, missed out on third for Evergreen. The Guyanese batsman got 77 against a touch Couva Sports Unit.
