The Guyana Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association is hosting its 34th Conference of the Caribbean, Americans and Atlantic Region in July.
In a press release the group said about 20 member countries are expected to attend the July 12-16 conference set for the convention centre at Liliendaal. Delegates will debate the socio-economic and political matters that threaten to hinder the region’s development.
The opening ceremony will be hosted at the National Cultural Centre on July 12 at 7 pm.
This ceremony will seek to entertain and give guests, particularly the overseas participants a glimpse of Guyana’s cultural art forms.
The release said invitees include members of the diplomatic corps, parliamentarians, military personnel and private and public sector officials among others.
