Defending champions Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar (RHTWSB) stayed on course for a successful title defence when they defeated West Berbice by 32 runs in the semi final of this year’s Busta Champion-of-Champions tournament last Sunday.
Competing in a rain-reduced 45 overs-a-side match at the Area ‘H’ ground, RHTWSB found themselves in early trouble but recovered to reach 220 all out in 44.5 overs.
Despite a resilient 63 from Keith Fraser and 55 from Arthley Bailey, West Berbice were dismissed for 188 in 42.4 overs.
The other semifinal which was contested between Young Warriors (YW) and Rose Hall Canje at the Rose Hall Canje ground, was ruled a no contest after the scores were level at the end of the match.
RHC made 216-9 to which YW replied with 216 all out.
The match will now be replayed on Saturday at the Rose Hall Canje ground while the final, which will be broadcast live on NCN radio, will be played at a later date.
