A potentially catastrophic incident was avoided yesterday morning when a trestle bearing two water tanks collapsed suddenly at a city school.
Reports are that sometime before 11 am, the trestle bearing the two tanks in the compound of the St Pius Primary school collapsed. Fortunately no one was near the tank when the trestle gave away. Stabroek News was unable to ascertain how long ago the trestle had been built but was told that the structure was only constructed a few feet off the ground.
