Irresponsible and malicious statements relating to the Lodge Housing Scheme/Century Palm Gardens Environ-mental Project have come to my attention. This is a grant project by the Japanese Government. The project is to deal with specific environmental issues in the Lodge Housing Scheme/Century Palm Garden communities.
Meetings have been held at the Lodge Community High School and the Lodge Enterprise Primary School to which all citizens were invited.
Teachers and pupils were also involved to brief them on the scope and purpose of the project.
An account has been opened with the Republic Bank on behalf of the municipality, and the signatures are those of the Town Clerk, the City Treasurer and the Director of Solid Waste.
To date not a cent has been withdrawn from the funds, as we await further discussions with the community leaders, and the acquisition of the equipment directly related to the environmental enhancement programme.
