The Guyana government has welcomed the vote taken on Wednesday by the 39th General Assembly of the OAS which paves the way for the reintegration of Cuba into the Councils of the Hemisphere.
In a press statement on June 4 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Guyana has consistently held the position that Cuba should not be isolated from the region.
“It therefore views this development as a new chapter in hemispheric relations and remains fully supportive of the process of Cuba’s eventual readmission if it wishes to return” to the Organisation of American States (OAS).
