The Ministry of Education says the state-of-the-art secondary school at Hope will be ready in time for the new school year.
Minister Shaik Baksh told the media at a recent press briefing that the school will be completed by July month end. It is expected to accommodate 1000 students.
According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release construction on the school started in 2007 and, Baksh said, “it should have already been completed.” He explained that the contractor had asked for several extensions and is currently facing liquidated damages. However, he added that he was optimistic that the new multi-million dollar facility will be completed and commissioned in time for the new school year.
