They are Teimour Radjabov 2756, Azerbaijan, ranking 5th in the world; Vassily Ivanchuk 2746, Ukraine, 12th in the world; Alexei Shirov 2745, Spain, 13th; Boris Gelfand 2733, Israel, 15th;Gata Kamsky 2720, USA, 24th; and Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu 2675, Romania, 55th.
In the following game, the most exciting of the second round, Black produces a surprising Knight sacrifice and obtained a strong attack against his opponent. But in time trouble, Black went wrong and resigned on move 36.
