Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson on Wednesday put an Alexander Street man on a bond to keep the peace for a year after he pleaded guilty to making use of threatening behaviour.
Rudolph Walcott, 47, of 137 Alexander Street pleaded guilty to the charge of using threatening behaviour to Jagdeo Parsram thereby resulting in a breach of the peace.
Walcott told the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court that he was innocent of the charges but that he had pleaded guilty because he wanted the matter to come to a conclusion. He further told the court that he had misplaced some plywood and when he confronted Parsram about it the man had used threatening behaviour against him. Walcott then told the court that the virtual complainant (VC) works with him and lives on his premises and he therefore wanted to bring the matter to an end.
Police Corporal Munilall Seetaram told the court that on the said day Walcott had used threatening behaviour to Parsram, who did not attend court. He said that upon realising that his plywood was missing, the defendant approached the VC whom he said would be the only person who would know about the missing plywood. The police corporal said Walcott had pushed out his gate in an aggressive manner thereby hitting Parsram.
