The National Milling Company (Namilco) on Monday donated a number of burettes to the Chemistry Department at the University of Guyana after an appeal was made for assistance from Assistant Lecturer Nazrana Mohamed. In a press release Namilco Managing Director Bert Sukhai said Mohamed had written to him explaining that the equipment was needed for the 410 students enrolled in the CHM 111 class to do titration exercises.
Sukhai said his company was happy to assist in programmes that will aid in the development of youths and, subsequently the development of Guyana. Narine said that many mothers who showed up yesterday to collect their monthly child support left because they couldn’t wait anymore. Narine added that they were told to wait until 2pm yesterday for their cheques. However, the wait proved to be too long for many who were forced to return home without the much needed cash.
