– Rose Hall Community Centre and Police through to semi-finals
Rose Hall Community Centre defeated Blairmont Community Centre in their final Zone A preliminary match to end as winners of that zone with 9 points, earning their place in the semi-finals of the 2009 Tenelec Inc. First Division 50-Over Cricket Competition in Berbice.
Meanwhile with Young Warriors defeating West Berbice and the match between Bermine and West Berbice being completely washed out at the Rose Hall ground in Canje, Young Warriors ended up being tied with Police on seven points for the runner-up spot. However, with Police defeating Warriors in their match, Police were declared runners-up and also earned a place in the semi-finals.
Zone B winners Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar and runners-up Albion Community Centre are the other semi-finalists.

At Blairmont, Rose Hall Community Centre beat Blairmont Community Centre by one wicket. Blairmont Community Centre winning the toss and batting first in the match which was reduced to 27 overs-a-side because of rain, made 134 in 26.3 overs with Karamdat Bissoondial 36 and Asif Khan 18.
Bowling for Rose Hall, left arm spinner Sean Jhetto bagged four for 27 from 5.3 overs, while off spinners Sasenarine Sukhdeo and Romash Munna both picked up two wickets.
Rose Hall Community Centre in their reply made 135 for 9 in 26.5 overs with Rocky Bipat 42, Sasenarine Sukhdeo 24 and Rafik Kassim had 21 not out.
Off spinner Karamdat Bissoondial finished with figures of three for 27 from his six overs bowled and Ramesh Boodram took two for 22 for the losers.
At Cumberland, Young Warriors beat West Berbice by 19 runs. In the match that was reduced to 35 overs-a-side because of rain, Young Warriors winning the toss and batting first made 192 for 8 in their allotted overs with Richard Ramdeen 45, Ishwar Singh 41, Farouk Hussain 34, Rudolph Baker 24 and Balram Samaroo 22.
Bowling for West Berbice, pacer Dwayne Duke notched up four for 42 from seven overs, while off spinner Arthley Bailey got two wickets.
West Berbice could have only managed 173 runs since they were rattled out in 33.1 Overs. During their short-lived innings, Arthley Bailey top scored with 34 while Keith Fraser made 26, Ralph Ogle 24 and Dennis Webster 22.
Off spinner Farouk Hussain finished with figures of four for 43 and the left arm spinner had the best numbers with the ball on the day taking three wickets for only three runs in five overs.
Meanwhile the semi-finals have been tentatively fixed for this Saturday depending on the state of the weather during the week with Rose Hall Community Centre coming up against Albion Community Centre at Rose Hall in Canje.
And Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar is down to face Police on their home turf.
