A 22-year-old Fyrish, Corentyne labourer was yesterday charged with the murder of 29-year-old Arifa Muntazali who was found in a trench at Chesney Backdam.
Aaron Abdul, also known as Vishnauth Rampersaud, was not required to plead to the charge when he appeared before Magistrate Chandra Sohan in New Amsterdam.
Muntazali who lived with her husband, Farook Muntazali at Queenstown, Corriverton was laid to rest on Thursday at her mother’s home at Number 64 Village, Corentyne.
Reports say that Muntazali had left her marital home and established a relationship with the accused.
