The Guyana Football Referees Council (GFRC) will conduct a Fitness Run tomorrow at the Police Sports Complex ground.
The event, which commences at 6am will see referees throughout the length and breadth of Guyana converging at the venue to test their fitness under the watchful eyes of Guyana Football Federation (GFF) instructor, Lawrence Griffith.
This is the first run for the year as a previously scheduled event run did not come off due to the inclement weather.
Another run is scheduled for September where aspiring FIFA Referees will also be tested along with the national referees.
The tests are done to assess the fitness of referees which will impact on their appointment to games.
Meanwhile, the GFF will run off a senior referees seminar with CONCACAF on July 25 and 26 at the Carifesta Sports Complex, Thomas Lands in preparation for the commencement of the national league. It will be conducted by Griffith who will be assisted by FIFA referees Roy Mc Arthur and Dianne Ferreira-James.
On August 8, a senior referees refresher seminar will be held at the Carifesta Sports Complex commencing at 9:00 hrs while on August 9 a referees assessment seminar will be held at the same venue.
Both seminars will be conducted by FIFA referee instructors.
