MEXICO CITY, (Reuters) – Mexican President Felipe Calderon’s National Action Party was headed for defeat at mid-term elections for Congress yesterday, according to an exit poll broadcast by the Televisa network.
Calderon’s conservative party was on 29 percent of the vote, way behind the opposition Institutional Revolutionary Party, which had 40 percent, the station said.
The results were the same as a separate exit poll published by the Milenio TV channel.
