The Guyana Softball League organized a total of 38 matches in the Mike’s Pharmacy 15-Overs Softball Tournament over the past weekend in the Under-15, Over-40, Open and Female Categories across the country.
In the U-15 category Uitvlugt Youths beat Zeeburg Youths XI by 12 runs, Superstreet Juniors defeated Leonora Youth Warriors by 8 runs and Zeeburg Youths, in their second game, defeated Ruimzeight Juniors by a massive 135 runs at the Uitvlugt ground.
In Linden at the Christianburg ground, Kara Kara Juniors defeated Uprising Youths by six wickets while at the Bayrock ground Christiansburg All Stars defeated Section “B” Warriors by 40 runs, Genesis defeated Victory Valley Kings by 53 runs and West Watooka SC demolished Mighty Risers XI by a massive 155 runs.
In the Female Category in Linden Sunrise SC beat West Watooka by 116 runs, Blue Berry Hill United defeated Uprising by 9 wickets and Christianburg All Stars trashed Genesis SC by 21 runs at the Christianburg ground.
Rangers Masters won against Floodlight XI by six wickets and Savage XI defeated Industry Super Kings XI by five wickets in the Demerara Zone of the Over-40 category.
On Sunday, the West Coast Zone of the Open Category had Shattazville XI beating Leonora Youths XI by 25 runs, Superstreet XI trashing Hyde Park XI by 39 runs while Raiders continued their winning streak by defeating Hyde Park XI by a comfortable ten wickets at the Leonora ground.
West Bank Zone – Takers XI defeated Street Boys XI by 90 runs and Street Boys XI whipped Diamond Superstars by two wickets.
East Coast Zone – Trophy Stall XI defeated Upsetters XI by 61 runs and Enmore XI lost to Upsetters XI by 139 runs.
Wakenaam Zone – Sea Shore XI defeated Knight Riders by six wickets, All Star XI beat Belle Plain XI by two wickets, All Star XI won by nine wickets against Sarah XI, while Sea Shore XI also defeated Sarah XI.
Essequibo Zone – Die Hard XI crushed Young Warriors XI by 66 runs, United Brothers XI beat Affiance XI by eight wickets and Reliance XI subdued Cullen XI by eight wickets also.
Linden Zone – Endeavour XI defeated Nottinghamshire by six wickets, South Star XI trashed Victory 14 by 34 runs, Sunrise XI beat Genesis XI and Desert Storm trampled Nottinghamshire by 58 runs.
On Monday, Diamond Superstars XI defeated Takers XI by nine wickets, Ruimzeight XI beat Independence XI by two wickets and Players XI upset Ruimzeight XI by six wickets in the West Bank Zone.
East Coast Zone – Trophy Stall beat Enmore by six wickets and Countryside defeated Hot Steppers by five wickets.
Linden Zone – West Watooka defeated Kara Kara Kings by 36 runs, and in the Female Category Sunrise SC whipped Kara Kara Queens by six wickets.
