A 29-year-old minibus conductor who allegedly stole a camera from a woman was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
It is alleged that on July 8 at Georgetown, Rodley Nedd of 52 D’Urban Street, Lodge stole one digital camera valued $85,000, property of Deborah Rodrigues.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge of simple larceny when it was read to him by the Acting Chief Magistrate.
According to the defendant he never stole any camera from the virtual complainant (VC) and does not know about the charges laid against him.
The VC explained to the court that on the day in question, she had forgotten her camera in the bus that the defendant conducts and when confronted about it, he refused to divulge any information and became verbally abusive.
Nedd was ordered to return to court on July 23.
