A 33-year-old man, who was shot in the region of the neck early yesterday morning, is now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital where he is recovering from the injury.
According to a release from the hospital, Manu Durant, of Barr Street, Kitty arrived at the Accident and Emergency Unit of the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the neck. He was subsequently admitted to the Male Surgical Ward.
When this newspaper visited the hospital yesterday, the man was sitting and chatting with a few persons who had gathered at his bedside .He declined to comment on the incident.
Stabroek News understands that Durant and a few persons were hanging out at a bar at the corner of Barr Street and Vlissengen Road when he was shot.
He was subsequently taken to the GPHC for medical attention. The man’s condition is listed as stable.
