Dear Editor,
I would be most pleased if you can find out and inform your readers about the closing hour of the post offices on Saturdays.
You see on Saturday, the 11th I went to the Bourda Post Office; the time was exactly 11 am and I found the place closed except for the western door which was half open where a young woman was standing in the open space talking to a man.
I enquired about the closing time, and she replied, “We’ve closed.” I walked over to the GPO, arriving at 11.20 am and found the place still open.
If consumers knew what time the post offices closed on Saturdays they could adjust accordingly.
Yours faithfully,
W.P. George
Editor’s note
We have been advised by the GPO that the hours for all post offices on Saturdays are 7 am to 11 am. However, on the cut-off days for payment to GT&T, notices are posted in the main branch extending the hours there to 1 pm to facilitate customers wishing to pay their telephone bills.
